Hood River was great, plus I got a lot stronger while there. I guess I need to push myself a bit more. It was a long ride back home but we had a delicious lunch in Walla Walla. On the way in to Waitsburg I saw the profile of a sitting camel in a field by the side of the road. Thought I was hallucinating. As we drew closer we saw a camel sitting under a tree , actually. Had to be the strangest sight on the trip.

I have a CT of the abdomen and pelvis tomorrow, hopefully to confirm my remission. My neuropathy continues to plague me so I am starting a new med tonight: gabapentin. Along with being able to walk now without a cane and learning my neck is not unstable, I'm continuing to feel encouraged.

  1. It is usually nice to get out of town for a few days, disrupting a routine. A camel??? I will be thinking good thoughts for you today Kay. Hugs, Heidi

  2. We've seen that camel before, too, and it IS disconcerting. I love to eat in Walla Walla.
Keep getting stronger! Don't eat too many dusky blue ash aphids.

  3. Kay - Thanks for the cheery news about your trip out of town and the warning about a camel on the horizon in that corner of the world. Good grief - who would have guessed? :-) We are all eager to hear news of your scans and hope they bring good news in time for your birthday.

    Love,
    Lynn and Dan

  4. Hi Kay, Encouraged by MRIs so far and now the CT scans will be the proof of the pudding, right? Hope you continue to gain strength. Your spirit is great and that is so important. I am following blogs of two others that have been heart rending as well. One a 43 year old quad from a MVA. He is my son's friend and the other a friend my age with acute leukemia. I am so appreciative of good health and so aware of how quickly things change.

Keep up the good work. Hope to see you soon. Diana
