Not surprisingly the nausea is back. I still managed to down a very good baked potato and cucumbers in vinegar and onions. Our neighbor has been providing the cucumbers and John's German ancestry the rest. Unfortunately I have not been able to appreciate most of our tomato bounty.

Yesterday was the last of the cis-platin, yeah! Only a couple weeks of the bleahs left. I wonder what the dogs will think when I finally am doing something other than reclining on the chair. Lola has been deprived of many ball throwing games.

One more IP infusion left next Tuesday. Here we go.

  1. Yes it is almost fall and I agree with Heidi. Fresh air and beautiful colors. Trees are already beginning to change colors. You and your family are always in my prayers. May God's blanket of healing love, strength and peace continue to surround all of you. You are truly an inspiration and I thank you for sharing this part of your live with us.

  2. Good morning Kay -

Bravo! You're passing the milestones and headed toward the finish line. I can understand the baked potato being yummy, but cannot imagine cucumber, onions and vinegar on a tender tummy.

We finally woke up to cool temperatures after some lovely rain overnight. Summer just lasts too long in Oklahoma!!! Katie's comments about trees beginning to change color are heartening and remind me of what we have to look forward to in the next couple of months. Usually we get one week of high temps again in late September and that's the last hurrah for summer. After that we start searching for sweaters and light jackets.

Saw today in the newspaper that Boise is the third best "driving city" in the country; Tulsa is 92nd. Thanks to the stimulus money all of our roads are torn up at the same time and it's wild trying to get to meetings because you never know which off-ramps or on-ramps are closed. I've had to drive in a few circles and arrive late more than once. The only good thing is that everyone else is in the same boat (ok, not a boat . . . :-)

I've been meaning to tell you that I really enjoyed the newspaper article about the "Mill Valley" song. I had totally forgotten about the song, but the article reminded me and the music started playing in my head. I didn't recognize the names of anyone, did you? When you feel up to it, I'd enjoy hearing what you remember.

Guess that's all for this am. I'm working from home today with all the doors and windows open. What a joy!

Love and hugs to you and John,
    Lynn

  4. Dogs know when something isn't right; Buddy's response is to stick his head between my legs and hide. He also stares at me mournfully from his bed with his head on his paws. No one would ever claim that Buddy is the sharpest crayon in the box but he is Very Loyal and Loving.

One day at a time, you're getting through this thing. I know each day is long. I suspect sometimes it is one hour at a time and the hours aren't short either.

Funny how one can go from having not enough time to do all the things that have to be done to having all of this time to endure until the body feels better. Also funny how the world keeps turning even though we're not doing those things.
